Our
church wants to be a part of your life and invites you to be a part
of ours
as we seek to live out the teachings of Jesus Christ by:
welcoming all,
providing Christian education,
serving our brothers and sisters around the world, and
offering loving care and support to our church family. Our Mission
Listen to an Interview with
Don Kraybill from
Elizabethtown College (a Church of the Brethren related school) -
"All
about the Anabaptists," on WYPR's "Midday" program from Dec. 6,
2010.
It was a special two-hour program on the Amish, Brethren, Hutterites,
and Mennonites.
Every
Sunday
morning we gather to grow in Christ through worship and
Bible study. Other opportunities are available.
Join
our
Men's Breakfast Group. We meet once a month on the third Saturday at 7:30 am in
various locations, sometimes in our
fellowship
hall, other times in a local restaurant, as well as in someone's home. Our format is a simple meal and conversation. We've done book studies
before, and may again. For now it's pretty laid back - pondering
together how
things have been going the past month, as we seek to live out our
faith in everyday life. And we'll take some time to pray.
Contact
the church office (410-592-9300) to fund out the details for
this month.
Our Book Club will next meet on Friday, January 13th at 7pm at the home of
Mike and Gail Hanna. The selection this month is "Shipwreck
at the Bottom of the World" by Jennifer Armstrong. For directions and more info, contact
the hosts.
All
are
invited. You can purchase the book, or borrow it free from your
local library.
A community women's Bible study meets (tho not at present) in our library every Monday at 11am under
the direction of Judy Collison. This group is an outgrowth of the YMCA
exercise class that gathers in our fellowship Monday and Wednesday
mornings at 9am. You do not have to be a part of the exercise class,
nor a member of our church, to join the Bible study. They were currently
using "Romans:
God's Big Picture," by Max Lucado, as a resource. p.s. the exercise class is open enrollment
thru the Y.
