100th Anniversary Celebration

Homecoming

1908-2008

Long Green Valley Church of the Brethren
Glen Arm, Maryland
October 25-26, 2008

Frank Ramirez, Homecoming Preacher

Currently pastor of the Everett, Pennsylvania Church of the Brethren, Frank is also an author and a playwright. Perhaps you've read his weekly "Out of Context" columns in A Guide for Biblical Studies that our International Lesson Sunday School class uses. Or maybe you've laughed through or been inspired by one of his Messenger magazine articles. If you've worshiped here during this 300th anniversary year of our denomination, you've probably heard a "Tercentennial Minute" he wrote. He was the Tuesday night speaker at the 2001 Annual Conference here in Baltimore (pictured above with a bag of ballpark peanuts, ask him about it in October). Several books bear his name, including a Brethren classic on The Love Feast. His most recent is Brethren Brush with Greatness, a collection of 32 stories of famous persons whose lives touched the Brethren. He has collaborated on two full length musicals, "Angels Everywhere" and "A Simple Feast," and written several plays - many pulling from Brethren history. We anticipate what God may have to say to us through Frank at this century celebration of our congregation.
