Our church wants to be a part of your life
and invites you to be a part of ours
as we seek to live out
the teachings of Jesus Christ by: welcoming
all, providing Christian education, serving our brothers
and sisters around the world, and offering loving care and
support to our church family. Our
Mission
We have two ongoing Bible Study groups. One, however, is on
a summer hiatus, and will begin meeting again in the Fall.
They were gathering every other Tuesday from 9:30 – 11:15am
at the home of the Sacks in Fallston. The other group is a
community Bible study connected to the exercise class that
meets in our facility. It takes place every Monday morning
after the class 11am, led by Judy Collison. Both of these
groups are open to everyone who wishes to attend. For more
information and directions,
contact the church.
Join our Men's Breakfast Group once a month as
we learn from the baddest boy in the Bible, guided by "The Samson
Syndrome" by Mark Atteberry. Our next breakfast is
Saturday, August 16 at
7:30am, focusing on Chapter 7 - "Strong Men Tend to Repeat the Same
Mistakes." Men take turns facilitating. Contact
Gary
Miller for more info.
After taking an August break, our monthly Book Club will next meet on
Friday, September 19th at 7pm at the home of T. Albright. The
selection this month is "The
Year of Living Biblically" by A.J. Jacobs. For
directions and more info, contact
T. Albright. You can purchase this book online (see
above link) or in a local bookstore, or borrow it from the
public library. Pastor Pete also has a copy which can be
borrowed.
A healthy lifestyle is important for all of
us.
Visit "Dr.
Bob's Corner" for some good wisdom in this area.
Bob Duncan grew up in this church and is the 'doc' of some of our
folks.
Earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis... Continue to remember those
in need... Got "compassion fatigue"? Innoculate yourself with Christ! Be a cheerful giver.
Thus far in 2008 we have sent 185
hygiene kits
and 115
school kits to
CWS.
Groups from this congregation head to the
Brethren Service Center
in New Windsor, MD every month to
volunteer with SERRV
(the next opportunity is May 22nd - contact the
church office for more info). The
Mid-Atlantic District Disaster Response
auction(link has out-of-date info, but good
descriptions, directions and pictures of past auctions) is on May 3rd in Westminster. In December
of 2007 two of
our members served in the Katrina rebuilding project
through our district.
