My mission:
"To listen for God to speak
in his Word and his people, and
to express what I hear
in words and music."
One summer our family climbed into our minivan and headed west. For nearly two months we shared the confines of this vehicle and the tent trailer it pulled, while we explored ten national and state parks, as well as attended a church conference. It was quite an experience, to say the least. Of course, things did not always happen as we thought they would. Furthermore, there were some struggles along the way. Imagine six individuals sharing the same cramped space for seven weeks! However, it was worth every minute. I'd do it again!
Being a part of a congregation is a bit like a long journey. We travel together in the confines of what may feel at times to be pretty cramped quarters. I've heard many folks share reservations about going on such a trip, but you know what? The scenery is more spectacular than one might realize. It's worth every minute along the way.
Now, if you've made it to this point in cruising the Internet, I encourage you to explore the real thing. A web page is only a door slightly ajar. Behind these pages, and others like them lie real people, and a real God (far greater than any webmaster). If you are not involved in a church, for whatever reason, I challenge you to join the journey. If you're nearby this congregation, I invite you to check us out. Make a connection somewhere. Don't be a voyeur, be a voyager.
With Christ at the lead,
Pete Haynes, pastor
