When we gather together

Worship Service      Worship is a significant part of what we are about. We (averaging about a hundred of us) gather for renewal every Sunday morning at 10:00 am. Pre-worship singing, followed by announcements, begins at 9:45am. The worship leader is usually someone other than the pastor, with various members taking their turn. Scriptures are read, hymns are sung, offerings arereceived, a relevant and biblically based message is preached by the pastor. Another importantcomponent of worship is a time for sharing "joys and concerns," followed by prayer. All of thesecomponents of worship do not always happen in the same order week after week. Liturgicallyspeaking, you might call us "low church," for we are somewhat informal in our approach, thoughwe do use a bulletin with a printed order of worship. Some may find us a bit "quiet" in our style, while others may experience us as somewhat boisterous - it depends upon what you're used to.

Alleluia Children Choir      As we have a number of children among us, there is often a children's story. In addition, a children's "Alleluia Choir" periodically sings. This group is open to any child (K-7) willing to sing. Our pattern is for pre-schoolers and Alleluia Choir children to leave early in the service, after the children's story when there is one, for supervised playtime (for the youngest) or choir practice. They then go to Sunday School, which usually runs from 11:10 am to 12:10 pm. Over the summer months, however, there is no children's story or choir, as Sunday School for our young ones takes place during worship. There is always nursery care provided!

Gospel Singers      We like to sing! The pastor tries to choose a variety of hymn-styles, some old, some new -songs that express our faith, recognizing that while we are united in Christ, we have differenttastes in music. While at present we have no formal adult choir, there is an open group of"Gospel Singers" who periodically share their gift of music during worship. They don't practiceevery week, but enjoy getting together as needed. There is always an empty chair for anewcomer, even if you are a beginning singer. We have an abundance of musically gifted personsin our midst. Three organists take turns volunteering their leadership, with other pianists joiningin from time to time. On occasion, guitar or synthesizer accompany our singing. Every week weseek to worship the Lord with heart, body, mind, and soul. Won't you join us?
